Who is Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, new ‘singing sensation’ in Pakistan?

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is a new social media star, but his name should not be confused with the names of legendary Pakistani singers Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

His real name is Kashif Rana, and he says he is a singer, songwriter, and composer. He is 56 years old and works as a minicab driver in London.

He was born in 1966 in Lahore. Even though there isn’t much known about his family, what is known suggests that he is married.

When his song for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL8) went viral last month, Chahat became a social media star overnight in Pakistan.

During the lockdown, Chahat not only did live Facebook sessions, but he also posted videos to his other social media accounts. He is now being asked to weddings because he is so well-known. “Mast Mast Sharabi,” “Tun Tuna Tun,” and “Pehli Wari Aj Ohno” are all well-known songs by him.

Chahat said in a recent interview with a local TV station, “I feel very honored.” I thank Allah because three of the six songs I’ve put out in the last six months have been hits.

Millions of people have seen Ye Jo Pyara PSL Hai, in particular, on social media, he claimed.

Chahat used to play in a band in Sheikhupura, a small city in Punjab. This is another interesting thing about him. He went to Government College and then Punjab University to get his education.

When asked about his plans for the future, Chahat said he was set on becoming a singer. People say that he is worth between Rs 20 and Rs 30 million, but there is no proof of this.

Even though he has no connection to the family of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, he continues to get a lot of attention because of his unusual name and the parodies of several songs.
